Within the scope of its commercial activity of wood construction products and projects, JULAR Madeiras collects personal data from its customers, respecting their right to privacy, and not obtaining any personal information without the prior consent of the customers.

We set out in this Privacy Policy the purposes for which we use and process your data, how and for how long we keep it, as well as the ways in which you can contact us at any time, in order to exercise your rights of access, rectification and removal of your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in force.

The collection of personal data can be carried out in different ways, namely through the forms of budget requests, jobs, suggestions, newsletters and e-mail addresses available on the JULAR website (, pages on social networks, or by personal contact with JULAR Madeiras employees.

JULAR Madeiras does not sell personal data to any entity.

1. Purposes - use and processing of personal data

1.1. Commercial

JULAR is dedicated to the design, development, fabrication, and assembly of timber structures, as well as the sawmilling, transformation and marketing of timber and construction materials, through physical stores and the online store.

The collection and processing of your data is necessary for the fulfilment of the contract for the purchase and sale of products or services, exclusively between the Client and JULAR, or for the performance of actions prior to your request (sending a proposal, commercial service, technical visit to construction sites or similar).

Your identification data, contact data, billing data, website navigation data, as well as those that are strictly necessary for the provision of products and services or the provision of requested information, will be entered and processed in a business management software - ERP and CRM, which produces all the accounting documents associated with the purchase and sale contract.

As part of the accounting and tax process inherent to the purchase and sale contract, your data will be kept for a period of ten years, in accordance with the legal requirements currently in force.


1.2. Marketing - newsletters

A form for subscribing to the newsletter is available on the JULAR website, where consent is given for the use of the data for this purpose.

Your data will be entered and processed in a management platform - Campaign Monitor (, which generates data and produces an automated file that is owned by JULAR, for statistical and monitoring and improvement procedures.

The subscription can be cancelled at any time, through the appropriate link that always exists in the newsletter, or through a response to the newsletter expressing this intention, or through the available contacts mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

Your data will be kept for this purpose until you cancel your subscription to the newsletter and/or give your consent.


1.3. Marketing - business contacts

Within the scope of the regular commercial relationship between JULAR and the Client, your personal data may be used to send personalized information and price campaigns on specific products, through e-mail, privileging the existing commercial relationship.

1.5. Spontaneous applications

JULAR makes available on its website a form for the submission of spontaneous applications for future job opportunities. Spontaneous applications submitted in person are also accepted.

Your data will be stored for this purpose in a database for two years from the year of submission of the application.


1.6. Applications for job vacancies

JULAR publishes advertisements with job vacancies on different online platforms, in daily newspapers and in specialized recruitment companies.

The submission of applications complies with the specific privacy policies of these platforms and companies.

Upon receipt of applications at JULAR, your data will be consulted by a group of employees defined for the recruitment in question, and may be used to contact you within the scope of the job offer.

Your data will be stored for this purpose in a database for two years from the year of submission of the application.

Promoting a continuous improvement of its products and services, JULAR regularly conducts client satisfaction inquires and opinion surveys, with the aim of meeting the best interests and needs of its customers. Your participation is not mandatory.


2. Data Sharing

JULAR may also use other entities (subcontractors) for the purpose of preparing and/or executing all or part of the purposes identified above (for example: suppliers, carriers, installers, service providers, recruitment agencies, etc.); as well as for the maintenance, hosting and management of its computer systems and equipment.

The sharing of data with these entities will be carried out only under the terms permitted by the legislation that regulates the processing of personal data, and these entities are obliged to a duty of secrecy and to guarantee the security and confidentiality of the data and will be carried out exclusively under the commitment not to process such data for any other purposes, or for their own benefit,  nor to relate them to other data they have.

Personal data may also be made available to third parties, namely, tax authorities, courts, other public entities/authorities and/or the police, in strict compliance with the law.

Whenever there is a need to transfer data to a third country (to fulfill the commercial contract), it will be carried out under the terms and conditions imposed by law, namely by the GDPR.


3. Rights of access, rectification, removal and portability of personal data

The holder of the personal data may request JULAR, at any time and through the available contacts mentioned in this Privacy Policy, to access, rectify, remove (right to be forgotten), limit, portability, oppose and cancel the existing information about him/her.

The data subject has the right to request the total deletion of his/her personal data (right to be forgotten), except in situations that may cause non-compliance with the legislation in force.

JULAR may ask you to provide proof of your identity, in order to ensure the correct processing of the data.

JULAR undertakes to provide a response on the measures taken for the execution of the request, within five working days from the date of submission of the request.

The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission if he/she believes that his/her rights over his/her personal data have been infringed.


  1. Storage, protection and security of personal data

JULAR undertakes to adopt the necessary measures to ensure the confidentiality, protection and security of the personal data provided to it.

JULAR uses several resources and information technologies for this purpose, namely private servers, accredited accesses, firewalls and anti-virus. The management of the computer network is carried out by a specialized technical team.

It is, however, the responsibility of the Users to ensure that the devices and equipment used to access this website are adequately protected against harmful software, computer viruses and worms.


  1. Retention of personal data

JULAR keeps personal data only for the period necessary to carry out the specific purposes for which they were collected. However, JULAR may be required to keep some personal data for a longer period, considering factors such as:

At the JULAR sales facilities there is a video surveillance system, duly signposted.

The image recordings obtained by the video surveillance system are kept, in an encrypted record, for a period of thirty days from the date of their capture, after which they are destroyed.
